Kate and Mike’s Grand Rapids wedding was a beautiful mix of timeless elegance, and fun! The venue, Golden age, above their favorite brewery featured a delicious array of bubbly suds and plenty of guests with dancing shoes in tow. Their wedding was a true reflection of their personalities: artistic and original.

My favorite part of the day was the first look! Seeing the expression on Kate and Mikes face as they saw each other for the first time was surreal. First looks are so amazing…and the only time during the entire day you get to spend alone with your love.

Kate and Mike were very thoughtful about all the details. Kate wore the same fur cape that her grandmother wore on her own wedding day. Kate made all of the lush flower arrangements, bouquets, and boutonnieres. Mike’s sister in law and mom sang during the ceremony (I cried, it was so beautiful) and their best friends played at the reception (Kate is in a band of her own “Kate and the cold calls.”) Music was a huge part of their celebration. The first time they said “I love you,” was after they preformed music together at her cousins wedding!

We made a pit stop to Brewery Vivant, the same place and same booth they had their first date. Loveeeee.

The day was full of laughs, smiles and words of love and support. These two are some of the best people around. Thank you, Kate and Mike, for giving me the pleasure of documenting your special day. It is an experience I will never forget!
